During an interview with Polish Radio on February 5th, Duda clarified prior comments on Ukraine's rights over Crimea, emphasizing his belief that Ukraine should regain control over all its internationally recognized territories.

Duda highlighted that his earlier remarks were part of a broader discussion, not intended to downplay the gravity of Ukraine's predicament. He remarked, "It was an interview that could be partly perceived as a calm, relaxed conversation on various topics, not necessarily very serious," indicating a misinterpretation of the conversation's tone.

The Polish President emphasized the significance of Ukraine reclaiming its internationally recognized borders as a crucial step in resolving the ongoing conflict with Russia. Duda firmly supports the idea that Ukraine's sovereignty over its territories, including Crimea, is non-negotiable.

Duda stated, "Ukraine is to return to its internationally recognized borders, to full control over territories that are internationally recognized territories of Ukraine, including Crimea," reiterating his position.

He concluded by urging an end to the aggression initiated by Russia in 2014 with the occupation of Crimea. Duda's remarks align with the global call for Russia to withdraw from all seized Ukrainian territories, framing the resolution of the conflict within the principles of international law and the respect for sovereign states.
