The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, in a press statement, revealed that the explosion took place shortly before midnight and claimed the life of 61-year-old Robert Matthew Farley.

Authorities from the sheriff’s office have confirmed that there are no suspicions of any malicious intent involved in the incident.

We are currently investigating a potential natural gas-related matter, though our inquiry is still in progress," stated Kent Greene, who serves as the director of fire services and emergency management, during a press briefing.
Kent Greene further conveyed that an additional individual, characterized as an associate of Caleb Farley, sustained injuries. Upon the arrival of fire personnel, this individual was observed departing from the scene, and the injuries incurred were assessed as non-life-threatening. The impact of the explosion left him with a concussion, as mentioned by Greene.
The residence was inhabited by Robert Farley, whose remains were discovered in the debris at approximately 4:30 a.m., according to Greene's statement.
Greene indicated that authorities hold the belief that Robert Farley was indeed the father of Caleb Farley. This information was also corroborated by a report on the news segment of the Titans' official website.

Furthermore, the Titans' website noted that Farley's mother, Robin Farley, passed away from breast cancer in 2018.
