Google Offers a New Cybersecurity Analyst Training Programme

Google introduced a brand-new cybersecurity training programme on Thursday. Those who register in the course will learn the skills necessary for a career as a cybersecurity analyst, and upon graduation, Google will provide them with a professional certificate.
The company's Grow With Google campaign includes the new Cybersecurity Certificate. Experts from Google created the programme, which is hosted by Coursera, an online education company.
For a 7-day free trial, candidates can sign up; thereafter, they must pay $49 per month to continue learning.
In addition, educational institutions such as Purdue University, the University of Texas System, Syracuse University, and Northern Virginia Community College will offer the new course from Google to their students.
Google says no relevant experience is necessary for the course and participants are able to learn at their own pace, with classes running for 6 months at 7 hours a week.
The training provided by the internet giant is useful for various analyst roles, including SOC, information security, IT security, and cyber defense analyst.
In a blog post announcing the new training course, Google stated: "The Google Cybersecurity Certificate will teach learners how to identify common risks, threats, and vulnerabilities, as well as the techniques to mitigate them." The course will give students practical experience with Linux, Python, and a variety of security technologies, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) programmes, to prepare them for entry-level cybersecurity employment.
According to Google, there are tens of thousands of cybersecurity job openings in the US, and the median entry-level income in this industry is more than $100,000 annually.
It also stated that it is working with more than 150 US businesses that are dedicated to hiring recent graduates for entry-level positions. Graduates with a cybersecurity certificate will have access to a special career site where they can apply for positions with these firms.
